2019 CHCI Leadership Conference
Early this semester, Sube enjoyed the amazing opportunity to send a delegation to the 2019 Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Leadership Conference in D.C. where we had the pleasure of meeting some of the most influential Latinx leaders of today. It was two full days of panels, keynote speakers, and presidential candidates discussing some of the most important and pertinent issues facing our communities. We look forward to returning next year.
Sube Senior Panel
The Sube Senior Panel was one of our first events of the semester. We brought together a panel of senior members to sit in front of the rest of Sube and share about their time at Yale, as well as their experiences in various industries from fin-tech to public sector. These accomplished seniors have combined professional experience from places like Google, Bain & Company, US Attorneys’ Offices, Breakthrough San Francisco, the tryb Group, and Brut. We were very excited to have hosted this successful event for our members.
Annual Latinx BBQ
Sube, in collaboration with Latina Women at Yale (LWAY) and LUL hosted a Latinx BBQ for the Yale Community. This was a great event to bring the community together and to meet members from various Latinx organizations. At the very least, this was the place to be if you miss the cookouts from back home.
Goldman Sachs Careers and Pathways in Finance
In October, we had the pleasure to host a Sube-exclusive event with our Gold Partner Goldman Sachs. It was a great opportunity for our members to learn about Goldman undergraduate opportunities, which include Goldman Undergraduate Camp for first years and sophomores, internship opportunities for sophomores and juniors, and full time positions for seniors. We can’t wait to have them on campus again.
Resume Workshop
Also in October, we held a Resume Workshop for our members. This was a chance to bring our members together and share fundamental knowledge on navigating the professional resume. It was also a much needed allocation of time and space for our members to purposefully spend time developing their resumes with their peers. We look forward to putting this event on again for our community.
