Co-Vice President of Professional Development - Luis Corril Serrano (he/him/él)
Luis Corril Serrano is a first-generation Mexican-American born and raised in the neighborhood of Historic South Central in Los Angeles, California. He is currently a sophomore in Benjamin Franklin College majoring in Economics with a certificate in Statistics and Data Science. As the first in his family to attend college, Luis knows that the road to success does not stop once admitted to an elite institution. Consequently, Luis joined Sube to help empower other Latinx and first-generation college students develop and refine their professional skills to succeed long after Yale.
To date, Luis has worked in both the public and private sectors, serving in roles that enable him to help his community. He has worked at Stifel as a Public Finance Intern, the Los Angeles City Government as a Council Aide for Councilman Curren Price, and will be working this summer as a CHCI Summer Intern at the United States Capitol. Ultimately, Luis hopes to apply his Yale education and internship experiences toward his goal of serving his Historic South Central community as a Los Angeles Council District member.
